Hey,
Its been a while since the world saw a new post here. Inorder to respect Anirudh's 'atleast 1 post per year' rule, Anirudh decides to write a post before the year comes to an end. But Anirudh thought to himself, "Hmm.. what do I write?.. For Im just a regular guy leading an ordinary life". As he was pondering what to write, something...

Fisichella takes pole position, finishes p2 and wins Force India its maiden championship points

fisico literally tasting his well deserved victory

On 30th of August the impossible happened. Force India was (lets face it)on podium bagging Force India its maiden championship point. This is how it all happened -

It was this Saturday evening and I had worth-fully spend all day sleeping.
As soon as I woke up I rushed to the TV set only to discover Star Sports(they usually air F1 here) is missing! Our cable operator has this really awkward system, we get only 2 sports channels at a time. They usually put the channel with Live progarm. This particular day ESPN was airing EPL and Ten Sports was airing this really boring test cricket match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. So they compromised F1 for the cricket match(this is India you know..).

sutil failed to get into q3

Anyways., then I logged on to F1 website for the Live Timing thinggy. By then Q1 was already over. I was hoping both the Force cars gets into Q2 and they did. Upon that they were setting really cool timings too. OK now I wanted both of them to get into Q3, but Sutil failed(was p11), again by some 0.2 second. Never mind typical Force India I thought. In few minutes Q3 began. Everyone had their run except for Fisichella, he was p10 and only some 1 min to go..... Kaboom.. Suddenly from nowhere fisico pops out in p1!!!!! Chequered flag was up, but there were cars still out on the track and anybody could steal that pole position(it was like time slowed down, and 1 sec felt like 1 min.). I was also logged into another F1 blog with a Live Chat, and people there were like
"Jarno Trulli is setting a really competitive lap time and looks like he could be in pole position....... No he doesn't... Its Fisichella on pole...... What a shocking qualifying". I couldn't belive my eyeballs, well, nobody could.. History was made. A Force India on Pole Position????? WOW, it was just awsome!!!!

Fisico goes like "Yo, Im the mann"

So the next morning, I contacted our cablewalla and requested them to put Star Sport(and they did). By that time I had caught nearly all the stuff that I missed, on Youtube (B-)). The time had come which everyone was waiting for ......fast-forwarding the boring part..... The race began. Our man Fisico made a perfect start staying out of trouble. Meanwhile Kimi(using his magic button) jumped like 4 places behind Fisico. Just after the first corner... Kbuhh Krakl Pisshhk Dishoom... Button , Hamiltion, etc etc out and most of them badly injured (including Trulli(p2), Nick(p3), Barrichello(p4?), Sutil(p11) etc) went into the pits..

Fisico had a clean start

Most of em came back at the tail. Sutil went from p11 to p16(kudos mann!).Yellow flag was on and safety car was out. Fisico was at a conferable distance before the incident. During the safety car period Kimi had caught up with Fisichella and as soon as the the yellow flag period was over Kimi used his KERS to breeze past Fisico(2 billion Indians must have cursed the KERS).

But Fisichella never went more than 1 second behind Kimi during the entire race. Fisico kept Kimi under pressure the whole race, how he did it with a non-KERS car is still a mystery. From the Fisico point of view the rest of the race was largely uneventful, Both of them made 2 pit stops each in which both refused to make any mistake. KImi finished 1st followed by Fisichella.

Force India pit crew shouting their their excitement out

imao if it wasnt for the safety car, Fisico must have finished p1. For a pukka Force India fan it was another reason to start disliking Kimi, after what he did to Sutil at Monaco last year and this year's german GP. I really wanted to hear Indian national anthem on podium. But then a Force India on podium is great thing you know... and o'yea kudos to Vijay Mallya!
